During the first five years of life, their brains are exploding with connections being made, and information being gathered and stored. Never again will your child’s brain develop in this manner. To stimulate small children, we present the material in a very quick manner, and then play with images, songs, puppets, etc.. in a more relaxed and entertaining way, to make the connections with the words being presented. SHOULD I DO THIS DAILY WITH MY CHILD?
It is a great idea to use our products daily to continually stimulate your baby. Glenn Doman, author of “How to Teach Your Baby to Read” recommends that children view the reading materials three times a day. We are not suggesting you watch the video three times a day, as that would be too much television viewing for a small child. However, you can watch the video in the morning with your baby, and then later just view the slide show, which takes just a few minutes, or you can review with the flashcards. There is no wrong way to use the program, except for playing it all day for your baby! Your child will benefit whether you view materials once a day or three times a day. The amount of stimulation you want to give your baby is up to you, and your child will let you know if they are enjoying it or not. Only continue on if your child delights in the program!

IS TEACHING BABIES TO READ NECESSARY?
Yes! The ability to speak, read, and write is what separates us from the rest of creation. It is every human’s right to be able to read and write. Why wait until brain development slows down and it is no longer easy for a child to learn to read? If we truly understand what babies and small children are capable of learning from birth to five, we would not wait to introduce language.
IS THIS SAFE TO DO WITH SUCH SMALL CHILDREN?

These children were given an advantage early in life and maintained that advantage throughout their school years. IS IT OKAY TO HAVE BABIES WATCH TELEVISION?
Small children and television is a very controversial subject these days. Some people believe that small children should watch no television before the age of two. Other people feel that small amounts of television are appropriate. As a parent, this decision is ultimately yours. A startling statistic states that: the average child will have watched 5,000 hours of TV before he enters first-grade. As a parent, you must ultimately decide what is best for you and your family. Television in itself is neither harmful nor beneficial. The programming you choose, or allow your child to watch, is what it finally comes down to. Since children are so captivated by television, it can be a powerful tool, of which YOU have control, to teach your child. We believe that watching one thirty-minute video a day is not harmful to small children. We believe that when parents interact with their children and use these videos as a tool to teach their babies, they will experience wonderful results. We also believe that having small children watch mindless programming will not benefit them in any way, and may cause harm to them. Using the television is not the only way you can teach your baby to read. We have designed our program using the television because it does capture the attention of young children, AND because it is meant to be a tool for the parents to use, at their discretion and under their supervision. Certainly if you are not comfortable with exposing your child to television, you should not. You should stick to using the flashcards as your method of teaching.
AT WHAT AGE SHOULD I BEGIN?
At birth your baby’s visual pathway is still developing. This means that your baby can make out shapes and images but their vision is not clear. It is developing day by day. By about three months, your baby’s visual pathway is developed enough to make out the words. Therefore, we recommend starting no younger than three months of age.
IF MY CHILD IS NOT A BABY WILL THIS PROGRAM STILL BENEFIT HIM?
The younger your child is the faster and easier your child will learn. A three month old will learn faster than a one year old. A one year old will learn faster than a two year old and so on. The brain’s development is slowing each day from the day of birth and tapers off at about five years of age. However, this does not mean that your child is “over the hill” and can’t start the program at 2, 3 or even 4 years of age. It just means that they will not learn as quickly, as say, a 6 month old will. They will however, learn to read easier than they will at age 6, when they officially start school, so you really have nothing to lose.
HOW LONG DOES THIS TAKE EACH DAY?
It can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 40 minutes a day. If you are short on time you can simply access the slide show from the main menu. These are a quick review of the words presented in the video. If you showed this to your baby three times in one day it would take less than five minutes. If you choose to watch the video and then review with the slide show or the flash cards, that would take less than 40 minutes a day. It is a small investment of your time, and will change your baby’s life forever.
DO I HAVE TO WATCH THE PROGRAM WITH MY BABY EVERY TIME?
We recommend that you watch the program with your baby. When viewing “Baby’s First Words,” you can touch the body parts being taught as they are reading the word to provide even more stimulation to your child.
WHAT IF WE STOP USING THE PROGRAM FOR SEVERAL DAYS/WEEKS?
Just jump back in where you left off. If your child is not showing interest, they may be bored with the materials. Try adding new materials and see if their interest level increases. Perhaps you are trying to show your baby too much in one session. Try cutting down and stopping before the point where they lose interest.
WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF DAY TO USE THE PROGRAM?
Morning is a great time to interact with your baby using the materials. Only use the program when your child is in a good mood. Judging by your child’s mood, you can best decided when your baby is most receptive to being stimulated.
IF I DON’T HAVE TIME TO SHOW THE VIDEO, IS THE SLIDE SHOW SUFFICIENT?
You may use the slide show, the flash cards, or anything else you can invent to show your baby words. Just be creative. You can point to words when you are out and about. Any interaction between you and your baby will result in increased brain connections. It is a win, win situation for your child to have you expose them to as much as you feel comfortable doing.
HOW LONG BEFORE WE EXPERIENCE RESULTS?
Results vary and depend on your level of involvement in the program. Many babies learn to read before they can speak. You can assess this by watching their eyes move across the words. You can give your baby a choice of two words and ask them to point to the one that says “eyes”. If your baby feels receptive, they may point to the word. Never push your child to prove that they can read. Your child will feel that you are testing them and don’t believe in them. Just continue to point things out to your baby in a fun and loving way. However, many babies astound their parents by reading orally just as soon as they can speak. It is not necessary to speak to read. You are probably not speaking now as you read these words, and no doubt you are reading.
HOW DO WE ACHIEVE DEEPER LEVELS OF LITERACY?
Reading to your child as well as reading with your child will increase their vocabulary and their understanding of language in general. Read books to your child. Point out words that you are reading and show them to your child. Be creative and make your time together joyous. Your baby will quickly progress from reading single words, to reading couplets, then on to phrases, sentences, and finally entire books. It is a process and we intend to provide you the materials to make it as easy as possible for you to go from step one – reading words, to the final step -reading books.
HOW MANY LEVELS ARE THERE?
There are five levels to the program. Your child will begin with single words and progress to couplets (two words), then phrases (three or more words), sentences, and then books. The steps may overlap and not be precise as your child will continually learn new words.
HOW DOES THIS METHOD DIFFER FROM THE DOMAN OR TITZER METHOD?
The Doman and Titzer methods are very similar. Glenn Doman, the author of “How to Teach Your Baby to Read” is an advocate of using flashcards and showing the words in large print so your baby’s visual pathway which is still developing, can take them in and process them. Glenn Doman also believes the words should be presented in a very fast manner so as not to bore your child. Dr. Titzer of “Your Baby Can Read” also presents the words in a large manner, but does not flash the words as quickly. MonkiSee presents the words quickly, but follow them up with video images of children, animals, and puppets, along with upbeat music to keep your child engaged and having fun. In his book “Kids Who Start Ahead Stay Ahead”, author Dr. Neil Harvey tracked the children who participated in early learning programs. He concluded that the children who were taught to read as small children maintained an edge over their peers throughout their school years.
WILL MY CHILD BE A NERD?
